Expanding a Sanofi System

Accessible design system for Tzield’s digital ecosystem

Tzield had three brand websites, banner ads, and email templates, all built without accessibility or design consistency. We developed a WCAG-compliant design system covering web, email, and ads to meet regulatory requirements and create a unified brand experience.

Role:

Lead Product Designer

Industry:

Corporate Pharma

Duration:

8 months / Ongoing

  • Set up reusable UI patterns for buttons, cards, and modules, drawing on prior system experience

  • Worked closely with dev/system lead to ensure tokens and variables aligned with foundations

  • Created new icons and enhanced modules to meet accessibility requirements and maintain brand consistency across all assets.

  • Ensured all digital designs achieved full WCAG compliance, reducing legal risk and preventing costly regulatory fines.

  • Part of a small 4-person team (my manager, a systems lead, a designer, and me)

  • Audited Tzield’s existing sites and IA, identified gaps and module needs

  • Directly owned all UI design for web, email, and banner ads

  • Led one designer in building and refining page layouts

Solution/Process:

We built a WCAG-compliant design system by defining accessible foundations, standardizing reusable patterns, and auditing modules against real content needs. These improvements powered redesigned pages, emails, and ads that met brand and compliance goals.

  • Information architecture: Audited and refined content structure; mapped components to real use cases

  • Implementation: Designed and QA’d web pages, email templates, and banners for accessibility and visual consistency

  • Foundations: Established WCAG-compliant color palette, typography, and sizing tokens

  • UI patterns: Standardized buttons, forms, and modules across all Tzield sites and emails

The design system unifies usability across all campaign digital products.

A comprehensive audit across multiple brands determined the necessary modules for the design. The platform supports responsive websites, digital presentation apps, congress display screens, email programs, banner ads, and other digital products.

During the design system rollout, user testing showed that the campaign’s jargon-heavy content and dense artwork hurt usability and responsiveness. I refocused the design on real human impact, using on-brand imagery and clear, emotional copy that highlighted what people gain, not just what the product does. The resulting site became fully accessible, aligned with user needs over stakeholder goals, and delivered a more meaningful experience

Using the Design System.

Results / Impact

The redesign delivered measurable improvements across Tzield’s digital ecosystem. By unifying the sites and assets under one accessible design system, we improved compliance, consistency, and speed for both users and internal teams.

  • Three Tzield brand sites unified under a consistent design system

  • Banner ads and email templates aligned with the same design language

  • 100% WCAG compliance, reducing legal risk

  • Clear component library and IA that made ongoing design and dev faster and easier
